Bio

I am one of seven children, born and raised in Rotorua. At age 21, after completing a sheet-metal works apprenticeship, I was drawn to London by the music and the nightlife. I lived there for 7 years, returning to Auckland in 1996, where I now live as a self-employed metal fabricator.

I have always had a passion for restoration, from old cars, furniture and old bikes to houses. When I’m not restoring things, I’m playing guitar, singing and learning Spanish, with the intention of splitting my time between NZ and South America, for which I’ve grown a real affinity.

My passion for travelling and politics is conveyed in my current art pieces. I strive to create something that provokes emotion, whether that is just a simple smile or curiosity as to ‘what was the artist thinking?’

The creative journey I’ve been on so far has been energised by these last few years of covid, and I am excited at the thought of future work, which will eventually take shape either on canvas or sculpture.
